Don't ask me why -I couldn't tell you myself- but I've gone on a Joker kick. not just any old Joker either but Hamil!Joker. Apparently he's been lurking around the back of my mind for over a decade just waiting till it was funny to pop out and pester me. There's some fan art in progress right now, my own spin on the animated Joker. I don't know about anyone else, but Mark Hamil will always be my absolute favorite Joker. His voice made the character for me; to say nothing of his laugh! I've already gone and watched Return of The joker, and Mask of the Phantasm; if only to reacquaint myself with the character.

I can still remember watching TAS on the old Cartoon Network; before all this "CN" bullsh*t. anyone remember Toonami? Yeah, and I mean the original Toonami, with that guy from Space Ghost Coast to Coast. I remember that show pretty well, considering it's been over ten years since I've seen it. I guess the whole reason for this odd fascination is that I remember the Joker most of all. he's always been a character that grabs you by the shirt and screams "pay attention to me!" And I did. What ten year old wouldn't? Well... unless they were a die-hard Superman fan...

The only real problem I've had with the Joker is that, since his creation; he's gone through more makeovers than Madonna. With Hamil's Joker, you know where you stand. Even with his spiffy makeover in '99 for Return of the joker, it was still the same character. True, he was darker, but so was the whole theme of Batman Beyond. And I personally loved that they showed the darker side of the Joker. Now, I know that most people are still apeshit about Heath!joker; but I think that if Hamil!Joker and Heath!joker were to meet in a bar somewhere, TAS Joker would kick Heath's ass. I mean, look at the difference! TAS Joker was eloquent, Intelligent, and a snappy dresser! and if you've ever seen ROTJ you'll see how he reacted to "the Jokerz". Heath!Joker looks like he founded that gang! still, I love Heath's take on the Joker; he did an outstanding job! But I will always, always like TAS Joker more.
